Our mission is
to serve, educate
and inspire.
A new initiative that draws an affinity between the hearts of people and the Mosque
Amongst the people who will be given shade, on the Day when there will be no shade but His… are those whose hearts are attached to the mosques…
An adversity that pioneered an innovation to stay connected with our communities
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the East London Mosque & London Muslim Centre demonstrated its critical importance to the communities of London. The lockdown period has caused significant strain on the Mosque’s sustainability, with the Mosque having to close its doors physically, presenting a new challenge in drawing support without having to engage in person.
With an annual footfall of almost 2 million, the ELM is one of the oldest, largest and busiest mosques in Western Europe.
The ELM has played an important role not only for our local communities in East London, but as a role model Islamic Institution in the United Kingdom, open to worshippers of all nationalities and backgrounds. Building on our mission ‘To Serve, Educate and Inspire.’ The MyELM initiative will develop a deeper, more meaningful connection to the Mosque and contribute towards the long-term sustainability making our community, our country and the world a better place.
